Ourpayday recently fell during an extended holiday and the employer issued an announcement that salaries would be paid after the holiday, is that legal?

It is illegal for an employer to issue a payday related announcement like that

According to the law, when a payday falls during a vacation, employers can adopt one of two approaches:

•Pay salaries ahead of schedule

•Pay salaries on the contract-stipulated payment day

If as a result of a poor operational performance an employer seeks to delay the payment of salaries, he must reach a written agreement with each individual worker. He cannot unilaterally announce the payment of salaries will be delayed.

※If you are a family-based live-in foreign worker or your labor contract contains different stipulations, then such matters are dealt with according to the provisions detailed in the contract.
