Epidemic Prevention for Vacationers and Migrant Workers Returning to Taiwan
Due to the dengue fever ourbreak in Taiwan and abroad recently, in order to minimize the impact of infectious diseases imported from abroad on the prevention of epidemics, please assist migrant workers with hygiene education and remind them of the following precautionary measures against infectious diseases:
1.Before returning to their home countries for the leaves: Remind migrant workers to take anti-mosquito measures when returning to their home countries, such as wearing light-colored, long-sleeved clothing, and taking precautions against mosquitoes bites on the exposed skin from disease vectors. Meanwhile, please practice good hygiene by do not eating or drinking raw food and unboiled water, and washing hands frequently with soap.
2.When migrant workers enter Taiwan: If a migrant worker has a fever, headache, back eye pain, muscle joint pain, rash, diarrhea or vomiting, etc. or other symptoms during their return to their home country or when they enter Taiwan, they should take the initative to inform the quarantine personnel at the international ports and airports, and cooperate with the required quarantine mersures.
3.After migrant workers come back Taiwan: Within 14 days after entering Taiwan, the intermediaries and employers are requested to take the initiative to take care of their health. If they have suspected symptoms of infectious diseases, please consult a doctor as soon as possible, and take the initiative to inform the doctor of their travel history, diagnosed comprehensivly and notifying related healthy authorities to prevent epidemics.
In addition, the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare has commissioned the NTU Hospitals to set up the "New Southbound Health Center." The Center has a multi-language online real interpreter service. Migrant workers who have questions about disease consultation, chronic disease management or other health issues can contact the Center by phone for appropriate assistance.
