On September 26, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine (AZ vaccine) doses will be distributed to city and county governments starting September 29 and that eligibility to receive a second dose of the vaccine is scheduled to be expanded to people aged 52 and older (born on or before December 31, 1969) who received their first dose before July 22 and are on the 10th-week mark or longer, in order to boost second-dose vaccine coverage as fast as possible; such eligible group will receive their second dose following the instructions and arrangements of their city or county government.

Additionally, the influenza vaccination program will be rolled out starting October 1. The CECC reminds members of the public that a minimum interval of seven days between COVID-19 vaccines and influenza vaccines is recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) at the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Members of the public are reminded to bring their COVID-19 Vaccination Record and NHI card to their vaccination appointment and inform the doctor of their vaccination history to facilitate health assessment before vaccination.
