The National Health Insurance Law regulates the insurers, guidelines of premium calculation for the insured, insurance benefits and related penalties. Other than those stably employed, new immigrants should participate in National Health Insurance after getting the resident certificate and having resided in Taiwan for six months.
National Health Insurance is an important social welfare policy in Taiwan. To help new immigrants and their family to understand the related regulations and protect their rights, a special section of National Health Insurance Regulations is set up on the National Health Insurance Administration of Ministry of Health and Welfare Global Information Website for the public to conveniently review and look up related regulations.
