Zika virus infection is mainly spread through mosquito bites. Typical symptoms are fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis. Pregnant women who are infected may result in fetal microcephaly or death. Zika virus infection is also spread through sexual intercourse. People are recommended to wear condoms when having sex within 56 days upon the return from epidemic areas.
