Divorce Registration

The following mandatory documents (original copies required) must be prepared:
1.Documents proving the personal identification of both parties (the national ID card for an R.O.C. citizen; the passport, alien resident certificate [ARC] or exit/entry permit for a foreign national or a Chinese)
2.The household certificate, one photo taken within the past two years (For the specification of the ID card photo please refer to the Department of Household Registration’s website http:// www.ris.gov.tw/), and personal seals (signature acceptable) for an R.O.C. citizen
3.Divorce documents
(1)For an uncontested divorce: both parties shall visit any household registration offices in person and present their divorce agreement bearing the seals/signatures of two witnesses).
(2)For a contested divorce: either or both of the concerned parties shall visit any household registration offices in person and present the decree of divorce and the certificate proving the judgment has become final and binding.
(3)For a divorce through mediation or settlement: either or both of the concerned parties shall visit any household registration offices in person and present the record of court mediation or settlement.
