Prenatal genetic diagnosis subsidy

The government will subsidize partial cost for high-risk pregnant women who are ROC nationals or the spouses of ROC nationals (pregnant women aged 34 and above, either the husband or wife or family members bearing genetic diseases, has given birth to a child/children with abnormalities, is found to have odds of suspected chromosome disorders higher than 1/270 through serum screening, fetus is suspected of abnormality through ultrasound screening, or those with suspected genetic disorders, etc.) . The maximum subsidy for each case (singleton) is NT$ 5,000. Low-income family or those living in areas with insufficient genetic health measures and medical resources will be exempted for a further NT$3,500, making the maximum subsidy up to NT$8,500.
