Professional Skills Improvement Training for Children of New Immigrants.

To assist children of new immigrants in acquiring skills and knowledge needed for regional employment opportunities and encourage educational institutions to cater for the demand of regional job markets, Ministry of Education organizes specific skill training courses to meet the demand of regional industries.

This program is targeted at children of new immigrants who attend skill-based senior high schools and senior high schools with special subjects or specialties (including continuing education divisions, practical skills programs, and cooperative programs), or comprehensive senior high schools’ professional programs. Children of new immigrants have the priority to enroll the program, which is followed by disadvantaged students and general students. The application time is open twice every year. Application of the program for the first semester should be submitted by April 30, and application for the second semester should be submitted by October 31.

Courses in this program are offered after school and during winter and summer breaks, and they are offered across schools. It takes at least 15 students to make courses available.
