The K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education subsidizes the Implementation of the Chinese Language Learning Supportive Project

According to “Key Points on Education for Children of New Residents” report of the K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education, schools in which children of new residents who have lived abroad for several years and returned to Taiwan to study without basic communication skills in Chinese are enrolled into may hire teachers to conduct Chinese language learning supportive projects at class level or camp level. Meanwhile, schools, when necessary, may hire interpretation assistants to provide real-time interpretation to facilitate teacher-student communication and to assist students in language learning. Schools may also employ parents to serve as interpreters and subsidize the cost of interpretation assistants in order to support these students in their learning. The Project starts from February 1 to January 31 of the following year, and the Ministry of Education will allocate the approved funds to the local government before February of each year in accordance with the annual budget, so the funds can be transferred to the schools for the smooth implementation of the Project.
