Do not use the National Health Insurance Card of a third party to seek medical attention in all hospitals and clinics

1. According to the Regulations Governing National Health Insurance and Medical Treatment, people shall present documents for proof of coverage by National Health Insurance and identity card for proof of identity when seeking medical attention or giving birth to a baby in hospitals, clinics, or midwifery clinics;

If the people cannot present their National Health Insurance Card or identity card for confirmation on time for whatever reasons, the medical institutions accredited by National Health Insurance Administration shall provide medical service in the first place and collect the required fees for medical services and issue receipts conforming to the requirements of the Enforcement Rules for the Medical Service Act. The people concerned shall present the required proving documents within 10 days (excluding recognized and weekend holidays) after the date of medical attention or before being discharged  from hospital. Related medical institutions shall refund the payment from the patients after deducting the coverage by health insurance benefit and the deductible amount of the patients. 

2. Do not use the National Health Insurance Card of a third party to seek medical attention in hospitals, as it is an act of violation against the National Health Insurance Act. The use of a foul mean or a fraudulent mean to claim national health insurance benefits or a reimbursement of medical expenses will be liable to a fine ranging from 2 to 20 times of the insurance benefit claimed, amount of reimbursement or declaration of medical expense. If a criminal offense is involved, the case will be referred to the law enforcement authorities for further action.
