If you receive a pay slip and the amount paid differs from the wage detailed in your contract check for illegal payroll deductions.

According to the Employment Service Act and the Regulations on the Permission and Administration of the Employment of Foreign Workers, employers are required to pay the wages of foreign workers in full, deducting only statutory fees.

Deductibles: Statutory fees include national health insurance premiums, labor insurance premiums, income tax*, board and lodging expenses and employee welfare benefits

※ Employers are not allowed to withhold the income tax of live-in foreign caregivers

Non-deductibles: Loans, medical examination fees, labor brokerage service fees or other unclear deductible items
