COVID-19 vaccines to which Taiwan has granted EUA for importation or manufacture do not contain pig cells; public can be reassured to get vaccinated

On August 17, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) pointed out that all the COVID-19 vaccines to which Taiwan has granted the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the importation or the manufacture, including the AstraZeneca (AZ), Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT), and Medigen vaccines, do not contain pig cells; the production processes of those vaccines do not involve pig cells. In addition, the World Health Organization (WHO) pointed out on July 24, 2021, that COVID-19 vaccines, such as the AZ, Moderna and BNT vaccines, all met the Halal certification standard.
