1. The Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan collaborates with the Ministry of Labor (MOL) and local governments to launch a pilot project that encourages more people to engage in agricultural work. The goal is to boost employment rates, replenish workforce for agriculture, and revitalize rural areas. Immigrants are encouraged to join the program as a major part of workforce in farming seasons.

2. This pilot project is complete with professional training programs for various fields such as agriculture, food, livestock, and fisheries. Instructors with practical experience will pass on their skills to would-be trainees. In so doing, participants with acquired expertise may contribute to local agricultural production or their own farming business as a strong and stable workforce in Taiwan’s agriculture.

3. The information on this website will be updated in accordance with the progress of the MOL’s pilot project.

4. In response to the labor shortage in domestic agriculture, we have launched an agricultural workforce empowerment plan for rural areas. The plan aims to align workforce with seasonal fluctuations. Farmers’ associations will recruit local or nearby farmers or those from farm households (including immigrants or indigenous people). These members will form agricultural service groups that offer training in farming skills. They will also assist farmers and agribusiness, agricultural production classes or farmers’ associations in job matching with local job seekers. The project will continue on a larger scale in 2016.

5. Immigrants may also apply online for the agricultural training programs. Related information will be published on our Farmers’ Academy website .
