Q1: What is the purpose of offering “Training Class of Getting Minority Language Tour Guide License”?
A1: Visitors from Southeast Asian countries have become an important source of travelers in Taiwan. New inhabitants have the advantage of languages. If they can be tour guides to receive travelers from their home countries and introduce Taiwan’s culture and scenery in their fluent mother tongue, they are of great help to improve the receiving quality and fill in the manpower shortage of tour guides.
Because being a tour guide needs to be a high school graduate as well as passing the “Junior Professional and Technical Examinations for Tour Guides” organized by Ministry of Examination and receiving the tour guide license, Tourism Bureau offers “Training Class of Getting Minority Language Tour Guide License” to new inhabitants with a high school degree to pass the exam.
