A work permit can be exempted once receiving a residence permit.

In order to taking more care of immigrants, particularly foreign and Mainland China spouses, National Immigrant Agency, Ministry of Interior, since September 16, 2011, leaves the mark, “residence permit holders do not need to apply for work permit,” on the residence permit of foreign and Mainland China spouses to ensure their rights to work.

According to the regulations of “Employment Service Act” and “Regulations Governing the Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the People of the Mainland China Area,” foreign and Mainland China spouses who receive residence permit in Taiwan follow different regulations from other foreigners and do not need to apply for any permit to work in Taiwan.
