Ministry of Transportation and Communication Amends Regulations, Stating Chinese-Language Tour Guide and Lead Travel Groups with Interpreters of Foreign Languages

Ministry of Transportation and Communication amended and passed Article 23 of “Regulations Governing Travel Agencies” and Article 6 of “Regulations Governing Tour Guides.”

According to Article 23 of Regulations Governing Travel Agencies:
Due to the changes in the tourism market in recent years and the unbalance between the supply and demand of foreign-language tour guides, the regulations are loosened for travel agencies to assign Chinese-language tour guides with interpreters of foreign languages to accommodate foreign-language tourists and meet their needs.
According to Article 6 of Regulations Governing Tour

Guides:
The amendment clearly states that Chinese-language tour guides, collaborating with interpreters of foreign languages, can serve tourists who do not speak Chinese for their traveling needs as a way to show consistency in regulations.
