Ministry of Examination Hosts “Junior Professional and Technical Examinations for Tour Guides and Tour Managers.”

I. Anyone who meets one of the following qualifications is eligible for the examinations for tour guides and tour managers: 1. Graduated from a public or private high school or vocational school with a diploma. 2. Passed the Elementary Examination or equivalent Special Examination and had served for 4 years with verification documents. 3. Passed Senior and Junior Civil Service Examination. II. Subjects for the written test of Foreign-language tour guide and tour guide include The Practice of Tour Guide I, The Practice of Tour Guide II, and Introduction to Tourism Resources. A foreign language examination is required for Foreign-Language Tour Guide (Test takers choose one of the following 13 languages as another exam subject: English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Thai, Arabic, Russian, Italian, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Malay.) III. Subjects for the written test of Foreign-language tour manager and tour manager include The Practice of Tour Manager I, The Practice of Tour Manager II, and Introduction to Tourism Resources. A foreign language examination is required for Foreign-Language Tour Manager (Test takers choose one of the following 5 languages as another exam subject: English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish.) IV. Tour guide and tour manager exams include written exams only. Foreign language tour guide and tour manager exams include written and oral exams. Only those who pass the written exam are eligible for taking oral exams. No reservation is made for those who passed the written exam.
