New UI number for foreign nationals

New UI number for foreign nationals.
Should you know how the 1/4 UI number can be changed into the UI number?
Highly recommended
Same with the elimination and replacement mechanism (use the original form for each application)
Simply replace with a new UI number (use a new application form)
Methods
For extension, information changes, or replacement (change) of  identification issuance, the original UI number will be changed to anew UI number
Before the validity period expires, those who simply want to change UI number may do so (allow the general public to change their UI number in split-flow, and this measure will give priority to non-migrant workers).
Fee
No additional fee will be charged for changing to a new UI number via the aforementioned method; charges apply to extensions, information changes, or replacement (change) of certificate
From January 2, 2021 to January 2, 2022, the fee is exempted for changing and issuing a new UI number.
Others
Original UI numbers will be completely suspended on1st Jan, 2031
If you have not changed to a new UI number before January 1, 2021, the original number can still be used
If the identification is merely renewed before the expiry of the new UI number, its validity period will remain the same.
Note: the migrant population includes nationals in Taiwan, foreigners, people from mainland China, and residents of Hong Kong or Macau who have not registered their households"
For more information, please refer to the special section of NIA for the new format of the UI number
