New Immigrant Mother Tongue Program for Children is Live on National Education Radio

Ever since 2018, National Education Radio and K-12 Education Administration have been working closely to launch a new series of New Immigrant Mother Tongue Program that covers a total of three languages including Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Thai for the new immigrants’ children. By listening to radio broadcasting, the new immigrants' children are able to understand and respect the cultures and countries that their mothers come from. Co-hosted by native-speaking teachers and second-generation students, the program features standard pronunciation, clear tone, everyday conversations, and cultures from different countries to allow every child to respect different cultures, thereby enhancing the overall competitiveness of the country.
Starting from January 1st, 2019, in cooperation with the morning study session of the elementary school, New Immigrant Mother Tongue Program was broad-casted through National Education Radio from 7:20 to 7:30 from Monday to Friday. Specifically designed for the elementary students, the program includes interesting stories, everyday conversations, and nursery rhymes so that the students are able to understand different languages and cultures of the countries where new immigrants come from in a lively and entertaining way.
