Ministry of Labor Loosens the Regulations for New Immigrants’ Participation in Professional Skill Exam and Employment Subsidy.

In order to encourage particular groups participating in technician skill exams and promote New Southbound Policy, Ministry of Labor, since January 1, 2018, loosens the eligibility of applying for technician skill exam subsidy for particular groups. Foreigners and Chinese citizens who are married to Taiwanese citizens having household registration in Taiwan are eligible for applying for technician skill exam subsidy. Once the eligibility is confirmed, fees for skill subject exams and practical exams as well as registration fee will be waived. Each person can apply for the waive up to three times with the restriction of one waive for the same profession and the same level.
