In response to border control measures and flight bans implemented around the world to contain the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, NIA announces that all foreigners who entered Taiwan on a resident visa, and Hong Kong/Macao resident who entered Taiwan on a duplicate of resident visa, and Nationals without registered household in the Taiwan Area should apply or renew a resident visa within 30 days after arriving Taiwan.

In accordance with CECC regulations, the exempted foreign nationals listed in the previous paragraph must observe a 14-day home quarantine upon arrival. For convenience, NIA announces that all foreigners who entered Taiwan on a resident visa, and Hong Kong/Macao resident who entered Taiwan on a duplicate of resident visa, and Nationals without registered household in the Taiwan Area should apply or renew a resident visa within 30 days instead of 15 days after arriving Taiwan. The expedient measures in this case were terminated depending on the epidemic situation.
